Reflecting on the first year at Colligo
Reflecting on the first year since taking the helm at Colligo, and looking at the prospects into year two and beyond
Last week marked my one year anniversary since taking the helm at Colligo. The first year saw many triumphs and many challenges. Yet, one thing is certain; the events of the past year have provided additional conviction around our views on the strengths of SharePoint Online as part of the Microsoft 365 suite and the broader cloud transition taking place.
While we were fortunate that our solution helps with the transition to remote work and benefitted many of our customers, we were also privy to seeing some of the struggles a few of our other customers were going through in their own businesses, which made our accomplishments last year bitter sweet. We care an immense amount about our customers, in fact they are our ‘north star’, so the hardships some endured was difficult to see.
As we enter 2021, we carry a lot of momentum, driven by the relentless hard work and dedication of our team throughout the pandemic. We have worked to ensure the right building blocks are in place for us to continue to scale up and accelerate our growth in 2021 as we enter the second year the Olbia Software/Colligo journey. We’ve added several new rock stars to our already exceptional team in the last 6 months, and I am energized each and every day to work alongside our team. Momentum tends to beget momentum; I suspect we will have the ability to add more very talented team members to our roster in year two and continue adding to our flywheel.
The world has also changed. Digitalization and cloud-adoption have been pulled forward significantly over the past year, adding to the massive secular trend that was already at play…and yet we are still in the early innings of the cloud transition taking place and the opportunity at hand. Our burgeoning cloud story reflects this; traction continues to increase as the economic recovery looks to be taking hold and broader enterprise spending seems to have resumed (for now).
Many companies around the world are still using paper records and documents, and even those who have moved to digitalize, have limited compliance and governance tools in place, exacerbated by the shift to remote work. For those organizations already on Microsoft 365 and/or in a hybrid environment, the focus has shifted from getting content into the cloud to learning how they can do more with that content across the team and organization. We continue to provide an unparalleled focus on solving these real business problems and providing solutions for our customers.
We are focused on combining the collaboration with content and workflows around capturing content, enabling our customers to do more, without breaking from the applications they already work in and spend their days in as information and content management moves to become more integrated with core applications. Without tilting my hand too much on exactly what our mission is, know that we wake up every day focused on providing applications that extend the value of SharePoint and Microsoft 365 and enabling compliance and governance while also boosting productivity.
It's been just over a year now since I packed up and made the move to Vancouver to be with the team. Our customers remain the center of everything we do at Colligo, and this will only continue as we turn the page on year two. Traction continues to build in our cloud/Office 365 offerings. Our team is highly driven to deliver on their goals. All of which leads me to believe we are poised for a big year at Colligo. While 2021 will bring its own unique challenges, I look forward to what year two (and beyond) will have in store for Colligo. I’ve learned a tremendous amount from our team, advisors, board, partners and customers over the past year. The best part is, we’re only just getting started…
